So I did the following:
- installed Fiesty
- Updaed from the internet
- Upgraded to Gutsy from the cd while running fiesty
And same problem, hangs up after the initial loading splash finishes

- Ran it in Alt+F1 and saw that it hangs at CUPS loader
- Went through recovery mode
- Ran "sudo gdm" and the login screen came up and I logged in\
- Error "failed to initialize HAL"
- Ran synaptic and tried to reinstall hal and all the other hal related in the
list. (from cd since no internet network connection)
- error about dbus
- tried reinstalling dbus
- network manager appeared but no connection
- tried reinstalling hal now, goes along succesfully and when the screen comes
back to ay succesfuly installed and close, it freezes
Ctrl+Bkspc doesnt work, Ctrl+alt+del doesnt either have to restart, get back in
through recovery mode since it hangs on normal mode
- trying to run synaptic doesnt work, error about having to manually run
something like "dpkg --configure --a"
- did that in terminal
- synaptic works, back to same problem with dbus doesnt seem to be working and
Hal fails to initialize

Any help would be appreciated
