Public bug reported:
Since a couple of weeks ago, Edgy Usplash appears on boot, but I don't
see any message about what's going on in the system and the progress bar
is not completely filled, when it's at around 50%, I see again tty1 and,
some seconds after it, I see gdm's prompt. Just in case you think it's
related with fsck, tty1 only has information about GRUB, a couple of
messages from the kernel and finally the login prompt.
