seems fairly obvious:
pkgCache::VerIterator ver = m_cache->findVer(pkg);
arch = string(ver.Arch());
if (ver.end() == true) {
ver = m_cache->findCandidateVer(pkg);
if (ver.end() == true) {
continue;
}
}
ver.Arch() is called even if ver is not valid.
