Public bug reported:
After choosing my Ubuntu distro in Grub, the computer's screen goes
black and hangs indefinitely. I am able to Ctrl+Alt+F1 and I get a text
only display listing all the actions as Ubuntu now loads, but otherwise,
I'm unable to boot to Ubuntu. I don't get a splash screen ever. I'm
assuming that the readouts that I see go to a boot log and am more than
happy to post it if someone could direct me how to find it.
I don't know if any of this information is useful, but I'd rather err on the
side of more, rather than less, information:
Release 7.10
Kernel 2.6.22-14-generic
IBM Thinkpad R51 with Intel Pentium M Processor
ATI Radeon RV250 [Mobility FireGL 9000]
This is the entry in the Grub file for my Ubuntu:
title Ubuntu 7.10, kernel 2.6.22-14-generic
root (hd0,1)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.22-14-generic
root=UUID=e420b413-49ab-47d1-ad0d-c361b2469f0c ro quiet splash
initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.22-14-generic
quiet
If more information would help, just let me know. Thanks!
