After using the following commands to create a mixer to add a soundboard
to a mic input using pulseaudio, I notice that the "device description"
is displayed correctly in each tab, but in the "Recording" tab it just
shows "Null Output" for each device.
pactl load-module module-null-sink sink_name=MUSIC
pacmd 'update-sink-proplist MUSIC device.description="Dummy Input"'
pactl load-module module-null-sink sink_name=MIXER
pacmd 'update-sink-proplist MIXER device.description="Dummy Mixer"'

As you can imagine, it makes it hard to work out what's going on when
devices all have the same name!
