LO is not detecting XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP properly. Editing exec line in .desktop seems to solve the problem. Exec=env XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=Unity libreoffice --writer %U Since it works on Ubuntu 16.04, I guess something went wrong in detecting Unity.
