>From your log Starting amavisd: head: cannot open '/etc/mailname' for reading: No such file or directory The value of variable $myhostname is "rod-desktop", but should have been a fully qualified domain name; perhaps uname(3) did not provide such. You must explicitly assign a FQDN of this host to variable $myhostname in /etc/amavis/conf.d/05-node_id, or fix what uname(3) provides as a host's network name!
The TL;DR is this: 1. the package needs a valid configuration to work 2. that includes a FQDN for the hostname 3. the package tries to guess from your hostname => If your Hostname is no FQDN it will fail to work. Fix the referred config file in that regard and the service will work again and also properly install/upgrade. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1792178 Title: package amavisd-new 1:2.11.0-1ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: installed amavisd-new package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/amavisd-new/+bug/1792178/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
