Public bug reported: I use mirror://mirrors.ubuntu.com/mirrors.txt in my sources.list so I am always using the closest mirrors regardless of where I am. I think it would also be especially useful with Tor so the mirrors closest to the exit nodes would be used.
However when I attempt to use sources.list lines such as this: deb tor+mirror://mirrors.ubuntu.com/mirrors.txt bionic main restricted universe multiverse apt starts errorring: Reading package lists... Done E: The method driver /usr/lib/apt/methods/tor+mirror could not be found. N: Is the package apt-transport-tor installed? E: The method driver /usr/lib/apt/methods/tor+mirror could not be found. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead. I think better solution would be for me to use Ubuntu mirrors that are Tor hidden services (Debian offers them, https://tor.debian.org/) but as far as I can see, they don't exist and neither does anything like httpredir.debian.org (which is improved version of mirror://?). I understand that this is the wrong place to ask, but is Ubuntu planning to run either hidden service mirrors or their own instance of httpredir?
