Hi Karl-Philipp, I will get them to mark this as "Wishlist" as this is a feature improvement request.
For the ease of the programmers, I will add a summary here. Please feel free to add any corrections. ----------------------- SUMMARY: Ubuntu version 18.04 synaptic 0.84.3ubuntu1 Problem is reproducible by the bug reporter. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open synaptic 2. Click on Reload button in top left. 3. Click "Mark All Upgrades" button. Actual behaviour: When marking a large number of packages for installation using the "mark all upgrades" process, the GUI freezes for minutes during the calculation of dependencies. Expected behaviour: Since the calculation of dependancies can take a long time, there should be a separate window with a cancel button that would allow the user to abort the "mark all upgrades" process. Additional notes: ----------------------- Bug triager is unable to reproduce the bug.
