I have dpkg files in /usr/local/bin/
I think there is an installation of dpkg under /usr/local/ but I'm not sure.

I ran some commands on dpkg, see below:

david@ubuntu-VBox:~$ dpkg --version
Programma voor Debian pakketbeheer 'dpkg' versie 1.19.0.5 (amd64).
Dit is vrije programmatuur; zie de GNU General Public Licentie versie 2
of later voor kopieervoorwaarden. Er is GEEN garantie.

david@ubuntu-VBox:~$ apt-cache policy dpkg
dpkg:
  Geïnstalleerd: 1.19.0.5ubuntu2
  Kandidaat: 1.19.0.5ubuntu2
  Versietabel:
 *** 1.19.0.5ubuntu2 500
        500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
