Public bug reported:
The adapter I'm trying to use using is a 'Valueline' USB-C adapter, with
no external identifying information. lsusb lists it as
Bus 004 Device 022: ID 0bda:8153 Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
It works fine on a Windows 10 system (same hardware platform), where
it's identified as a 10/100/1000 Realtek adapter.
When I connect it to my system (Asus Zenbook UX490UA) internal lights go
on, but no connection is produced. The network icon (upper right) is
shown briefly, then disappears, the is show, then disappears. After
some time it seems to give up.
