Are you using a Flat-Panel display as your 2nd? If so and you're using the nvidia driver you'll have to hack about with the EDIB (not sure if I've spelt this right) settings see the Nvidia readme that you can get by downloading the drivers from the Nvidia site. I think it's chapter 13.
