gnome-shell is very good at using zero CPU when nothing is happening. So if you find it's more than zero then that's probably due to one of your extensions:
b'org.gnome.shell' b'enabled-extensions' b"['user-theme@gnome-shell- extensions.gcampax.github.com', '[email protected]', 'arc- [email protected]', 'alternate-tab@gnome-shell- extensions.gcampax.github.com']" Please remove all extensions and retest. If that's not enough then please also give more details about what apps were running at the time. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Tags added: performance ** Tags added: nvidia -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1798547 Title: high usage cpu due to /usr/bin/gnome-shell To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1798547/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
