Public bug reported: On armhf and arm64 U-boot is now capable of acting as UEFI. This is great for devices such as the raspberry pi. However, grub-installer currently always tries to update NVRAM which is non existent on the pi.
I was going to write a patch to add a preseedable option to disable NVRAM, but I see somebody has already submitted one to debian https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=789798 ** Affects: grub-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: grub-installer (Debian) Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #789798 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=789798 ** Also affects: grub-installer (Debian) via https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=789798 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1800011 Title: Add option to disable NVRAM update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+bug/1800011/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
