Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
I'm running Ubuntu Gutsy on a Dell Inspiron E1505. My graphics card is
an Intel 945GM.
With the i810 driver, the "Blank Screen on Laptop Lid Close" Setting
works about 90% of the time.
With the intel driver, it works about 5% of the time. The screen usually
blanks for about 3 seconds and then turns back on. When it does work,
the screen blanks for about 1 second, turns back on, then turns back
off. I've tried using both the Gutsy and Hardy build of this driver, but
to no avail.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Change the event "When Laptop Lid is Closed" setting to blank screen for
both battery and AC power.
2. Close the laptop lid.
Here are the results I get when I run lshal -m and close then reopen the
monitor:
02:48:54.342: platform_i8042_i8042_KBD_port_logicaldev_input condition
ButtonPressed = switch-videomode
02:48:54.354: platform_i8042_i8042_KBD_port_logicaldev_input condition
ButtonPressed = switch-videomode

ButtonPressed = switch-videomode

ButtonPressed = switch-videomode
Thanks,
Adam
