I may be experiencing the same bug. I have a Lenovo A485 2700U. Though the system either doesn't progress past grub's "loading initramfs" or shows a black screen after that point.
Starting with pci=noacpi causes something to show up but it still does not boot. But, with a different kernel config the latest git works fine, but when I compiled with my normal config it would not boot. Also, ubuntu's PPA which has rc7 in it has the same issue as my normal config. I am uploading my working and non-working config.
