- The old vte source hasn't been maintained upstream since 2011 (when GNOME 3
was released). vte will be dropped from Debian Testing soon. We should not ship
it in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. The replacement is provided by source vte2.91 (which
requires gtk3).
