** Description changed: Binary package hint: firefox When the dropdown menu appears while I type in the url web address box, the cpu goes up to >50%. This is only a problem when scim is turned on + + To reproduce: + 1. Systems->Administration-> Language Support + 2. It will ask to download language packages (if you don't have them already, as I vaguely remember) + 3. Restart Language Support, or reboot if necessary + 4. Check the support for any foreign language (for me it was Chinese) + 5. Enable support for enter complex characters + 6. Reboot, now scim should be loaded with each session. If not just enter "scim" in the terminal + 7. With scim loaded, open up firefox + 8. Start typing in the link-box, say "goog," and the dropdown box should appear to show "http://google.com/" and anything else + +related. + 9. At this point, check the system cpu load, which should be pretty high (even on a dual core) ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Tue Oct 23 22:38:53 2007 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 7.10 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: firefox 2.0.0.8+2nobinonly-0ubuntu1 PackageArchitecture: i386 SourcePackage: firefox Uname: Linux tli17-ubuntu32 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 23:05:12 GMT 2007 i686 GNU/Linux
