It is perfectly legal for mail from a relay domain to arrive from
outside of your networks. (a simple alias for a "mailing list" is one
example of a situation that is not uncommon, and produces this behavior.
That it's a stupid configuration for a "mailing list" does not make it
any less legal.)
If you say that mail should be relayed for a domain (by putting it in
$relay_domains), then you have told postfix to allow mail to that domain
regardless of the source of the mail.
