I can observe the issue if I set the "Tools > Options > Internet >
E-mail" field to "/usr/bin/thunderbird". But if IĀ unset the field
(blank) then LibreOffice calls xdg-email, which figures out the default
e-mail client as expected (assuming thunderbird is configured as your
default e-mail client).
Calling directly /usr/bin/thunderbird is blocked by the libreoffice-
senddoc apparmor profile.
I'm confirming the bug, but it's unlikely that it will get much
traction, given how easy it is to work around it by simply unsetting the
e-mail client in the options.
