Public bug reported:

- Crash on battery run-down:
When my laptop battery power ran out, the whole Ubuntu 7.10 system crashed
rather than hibernating. I'd been been editing an OpenOffice word doc when the
screen went black, I momentarily saw some ascii messages that were not there
long enough to read, and the system died.
- then failed file recovery:
Even more surprisingly, on restart, OpenOffice file recovery only retrieved the
file in it's original state, before I'd spent two hours in the previous session
working on it, even though I'd regularly been saving it! And I thought Linux
was supposed to be stable and reliable. Back to Windows for me...
