Janos, this is a total aside and should be something best discussed on the Lubuntu mailing list ([email protected]) but I will mention that PCMan himself is no longer involved in the development of GTK PCManFM, although he is in the Qt version. The future is bright for LXQt but much more to do, as you mention with the network configuration. It will not simply be another version of KDE. KDE themselves have worked hard to modularize their stuff more so that using some KDE software doesn't bring the whole rest of the desktop with it. This means you can make use out of their years of experience with Qt, without having to deal with a huge footprint. There's heavy development happening on LXQt. Not so much with LXDE. And the transition to GTK3 is *still* something the few LXDE developers remaining are stuggling with. And, if PCMan's original explorations on the subject still hold true, the GTK3 version, when complete, will not be able to match the speed and reliability of the Qt version. After all, are you having these problems in Lubuntu 18.10's pcmanfm-qt? I suspect not.
