Thanks for your followup. journalctl | grep cups-pk-helper
yields exactly two entries from that day: Nov 26 11:08:22 localhost.localdomain gnome-control-c[27707]: cups-pk-helper: addition of printer 1002 failed: client-error-not-authorized Nov 26 16:33:53 localhost.localdomain gnome-control-c[7361]: cups-pk-helper: addition of printer 1002 failed: client-error-not-authorized I can consistently reproduce this behavior. If I try to add another printer the same error results and yields the journalctl entry Nov 30 07:41:32 localhost.localdomain gnome-control-c[13550]: cups-pk- helper: addition of printer 958_small failed: client-error-not- authorized Is there a way to run cups-pk-helper in a verbose or debugging mode? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1805438 Title: Print settings present two distinct interfaces for adding printers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1805438/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
