nmbd has issues if there is no/failing/ipv6-only network.
There is a bug about it at bug 1731502 which is waiting to be resolved.
I'm not entirely sure it is "the same" issue, but certainly related.
You could until there is a final fix check your network setup if that could be
the reason (as I said ipv6 only for example).
