I can confirm this bug in gutsy. Having set
Option "XAxisMapping" "6 7"
Option "EmulateWheel" "true"
Option "EmulateWheelButton" "2"
in xorg.conf, horizontal scrolling works fine in all other applications using
my touchpad/trackpoint. The problem is only in firefox.
It would be nice if the default settings in about:config were adjusted in the
package.
I can also confirm the fix suggested in the description.
