Public bug reported:

I've just upgraded my feisty install to gutsy and noticed this
behaviour. I've did 'sudo dpkg-reconfigure console-setup' and set
croatian font and keyboard, and after update-initramfs finishes I can
write croatian (latin) letters in console. Then, if I switch to X
session with alt-f7 and back with ctrl-alt-fx the console font is unset
and instead of croatian letters I get only garbage. If I do 'setupcon'
it's back on normal and I have croatian letters but next time I switch
to X and back it gets unset again.

First I have think that problem is with console-setup package but the
problem is with nvidia drivers I use. If I set to nv or vesa driver in
xorg.conf everything works as expected.

To replikate:

Run sudo dpkg-reconfigure console-setup and just change font, for
example Terminus 16 to Terminus 14.

Switch to X with Alt-F7

Switch back to console Ctrl-Alt-Fx

And the font is now back to the original one (eg. "Terminus 16").

I've also tried this to be sure it's a driver problem, after my console font
gets unset I did:

vi test.txt - (entered something with croatian letters and saved, but in
console I can se only garbage)
Switched back to X with Alt-F7 and opened test.txt in gedit and my croatian
characters are displayed correctly.

If you need any more information please let me know!
