By the way, I checked the "Keep aligned" box that is available by right- clicking the desktop. I also tried to replicate the bug by putting the computer to sleep and then waking it up (being prompted to enter my password at the unlock screen) but it did not happen then. Next, I will test rebooting.
Okay, I can confirm that rebooting produces the same behavior. I think the reason some of the icons move under the dock is that I have the setting "Auto-hide the Dock" on. In my nautilus settings, "Show Hidden Files" is on, but I don't think I've made any other customization. My installation is a minimal desktop installation; ubuntu-minimal is installed with all, including recommended, dependencies. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1809635 Title: nautilus-desktop icons rearrange themselves upon relogin gnome To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1809635/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
