Public bug reported:

Installing GNOME shell extensions is quite painfull for two reasons:

# 1) https://extensions.gnome.org is not working
The original and time-proven method of installing GNOME shell extensions is not
working in Ubuntu 18.04.

Even if I install the Firefox (or Chromium) GNOME extension, webpage says:
"We cannot detect a running copy of GNOME on this system, so some parts of the
interface may be disabled."

# 2) "Ubuntu way"
Ubuntu integrated the GNOME extensions into the "Ubuntu Software" application.
But there is no posibility to sort the extensions by popularity or number of
downloads. There is even no way to filter the extensions with basic fulltext.

So the "Ubuntu way" is really pain to work with.

# What you expected to happen
The best would be if the https://extensions.gnome.org/ would work in Ubuntu by
default.

# Software details
I have fresh installed Ubuntu 18.04. GNOME shell 3.28.3.
