Hi Ganesh, from your log: 2019-01-10T10:16:35.674396Z 0 [ERROR] Can't start server: Bind on TCP/IP port: Address already in use 2019-01-10T10:16:35.674398Z 0 [ERROR] Do you already have another mysqld server running on port: 3306 ? 2019-01-10T10:16:35.674408Z 0 [ERROR] Aborting
It seems there is another mysql or any other service on that port already running which breaks (re)starting the service. That in turn kills the package install/upgrade. You'd have to check your system config what you have running there and resolve the situation as it is part of your local configuration and not something one can fix in the Ubuntu packages. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1811227 Title: package mysql-server-5.7 5.7.24-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: installed mysql-server-5.7 package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1811227/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
