Ok, so I totally reinstalled Ubuntu 18.04.1. On its first fresh boot ever, it hung at the purple screen, before a login screen should have been displayed. I was able to use the workaround for bug 1727356 by uncommenting "WaylandEnable=false" and again rebooted. It still hung at the purple screen, and no login screen was ever displayed. I checked to ensure that no PPAs were installed, and there are 0 results.
The problem of hanging at a purple screen on boot continues despite a full, fresh re-install of Ubuntu without any PPAs installed. I have been able to boot fully into Ubuntu, so long as I have had a failed boot before. Just like before. I've created and attached new files of the same things you've asked for before: my new failedboot.txt, and my new allpackages.txt. Is there anything else you need to diagnose this problem? Please advise. Alex On Fri, Jan 11, 2019 at 9:36 AM Alex Thëil <alex.thei...@gmail.com> wrote: > I understand. Thank you very much for all the help.
