Hi Andreas, Effectively, there was missing something, I still don't know what.
I ran the 3 apt commands. I attached the full output. Some interesting lines are: W: APT had planned for dpkg to do more than it reported back (11 vs 15). Affected packages: samba-common:amd64 Know, I remember that I added the package smbclient via an ansible playbook. I don't remember if I had an error reported by ansible at this moment. I didn't have any log about when I ran it. I removed purged the three packages: $ sudo apt remove --purge smbclient samba-common samba-common-bin + re-ran the ansible playbook, but it didn't reproduce the mis- configuring error. Hope that, helps. Regards, Sylvain. ** Attachment added: "output applying apt commands" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1811552/+attachment/5229147/+files/bug_samba_xubuntu.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1811552 Title: package samba-common 2:4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.6 failed to install/upgrade: installed samba-common package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 128 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1811552/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
