I can confirm the same behavior on my new Gutsy install. Dialing out
with GnomePPP works--I can surf the internet--but the "Connecting..."
dialog doesn't go away and it doesn't dock into the panel like it
should.
My installed versions are:
Ubuntu 7.10 release
WvDial 1.56-1.2ubuntu2
gnome-ppp 0.3.23.1
--
wvdial 1.58-1.2ubuntu2 (gutsy) breaks gnome ppp dialog hang authenticating
