I have the same problem.
I am using Ubuntu 7.10 "Gutsy Gibbon" with a 'Microsoft IntelliMouse
Explorer' mouse.
The navigation buttons on the left of the mouse, for forward/back does not work.
They're mapped wrong.
The back-button does paste the text in clipboard.
The forward-button does right-click.
