I also want to confirm that the sound has come back when I upgraded the
kernel to 4.19.18. I am using Mint 19.1 and by default it didn't work.

Warning! I first upgraded to 4.20.5 but it didn't work. I switched to
the 4.19 and it magically started to work!

And on a side note it works better than the stock windows version. The
sound card was making weird static noises when used on Windows 10.
