Today, 8 years later :), I cannot say something new regarding this bug - I even don't have this camera any more. For me you can close this bug now and try to solve other more important bugs. But I can say that usb read/write is still slow on Ubuntu 18.10 in comparison to win on my current pc, even with a simple usb flash drive.
