same problem here with a nearly virgin 18.10 installation. The new
kernel stopps booting with the grub background. Even when remove quiet
splash there only comes up:
4.18.0-14 generic wird geladen....
initiale Ramdisk wird geladen ....
then the HD works on for some seconds (and then stops) but nothing else
is posted
