Hi an thanks for the bug report.
Depending on Pidgin settings, it may start minimized in the notification area.
Can you please check if an icon is added near the clock when you start pidgin ?
If this is the case, then this bug is not a bug : you just have to click this
icon to restore Pidgin's window. You can disable this behaviour in the
preferences.
