On Ubuntu 7.10 OpenOffice 2.3.0 it appears the date format is consistent
in a way. You enter the dates as your locale specifies, when you double
click on a date it shows it to you in your locale format. So if your
locale default is MM/DD/YY but you have it set to DD/MM/YY it will show
DD/MM/YY until you double click in which case it will then show it as
MM/DD/YYYY (actually 4 digit year).

I think the original bug reported has been corrected since I didn't
notice any problems with entering dates, so I am closing this bug.
