Public bug reported:
I've just noticed that it's impossible to handle files (open, copy,
etc...) and directories stored in non-linux file systems (FAT, cdroms,
etc...) that have non-ASCII characters in their file names. As soon as
any program tries to access one of those files or directories, it throws
up a series of error messages complaining about the weird file name.
That problem is solved as soon as the file names are renamed.
Unfortunately, as it isn't possible to rename files stored in a CD/DVD,
it turns out that this problem renders those files inaccessible and, in
case of directories, every file which is contained in it.
