As a workaround it should work to upgrade the package manually from the
command line with something like "sudo apt install vim-lastplace".
The problem here is a call to vim-addon-manager in the maintainer
scripts and vim-addon-manager trusting the getlogin() function. But I
think this only works when you're logged in to a shell, while your
update was done by a daemon not attached to any shell.
