This looks like this is somewhat related to

Are you using the standard init script and configuration for sshd? try
running the following to make sure your configuration is correct:
sshd -t
Once that's done, you can manually create the directory it needs:
sudo mkdir /var/run/sshd
I'm marking as invalid because this looks like a configuration problem.
If it's not a configuration issue, please change the status back to
"new".
