The mysql error.log was ommitted to be attached which most often holds the key 
to analyze this.
Given that 98% of such errors are broken configurations of the installed mysql 
that then fails to restart on upgrade and 1% known flakyness issues on restart 
(the DPKD terminal log does not look like these thou) I'd consider this such a 
case until proven otherwise.

Could you please attach the error log of mysql (would actually have been
auto-attached usually, so I wonder about that).
