Could this be the same as Debian bug https://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=295605 'pterm doesn't start with Unicode data in cut buffer ("Gdk-ERROR **: BadMatch")'?
That was fixed upstream in commit 36ddc5708 https://git.tartarus.org/?p=simon/putty.git;a=commit;h=36ddc57084 which debuted in upstream release 0.68; so the fix is in Ubuntu Bionic and later. I haven't checked if the fix was backported for any of the currently supported Ubuntu distros (Precise 0.62, Trusty 0.63, Xenial 0.67). ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #295605 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=295605 ** Summary changed: - putty fails to start any connection + putty fails to start any connection (BadMatch) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1477843 Title: putty fails to start any connection (BadMatch) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/putty/+bug/1477843/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
