Hi Richud, The upstream feedback sort of repeats our discussion. Just as I have recommended to use in the meantime e.g. at comment #7 that we could use: virsh snapshot-revert <guestname> <snapshot> virsh edit <guestname> (set type) virsh start <guestname>
Our argument to add the new feature was to have a way to permanently modify the snapshot so that it works from there on forever. That suggestion was now extended by the upstream discussion [1] to be covered with virsh snapshot-revert <guestname> <snapshot> virsh edit <guestname> (set type) virsh snapshot-create <guestname> ... That would essentially behave like my patches at a slight discomfort of needing more commands. I have to admit that I think that would work for you, and I have a hard time to convince [1] people otherwise. If you think adding the changes as you tested them from the PPA, could you chime in on [1] and do the "convincing" as you are the affected person that makes more sense. I have put a task on next release to reconsider dropping the old types, yet I want something to force people off the old types - but that is for another day. ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1802944 Title: error: unsupported configuration: Target domain machine type To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1802944/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
