Public bug reported:
Gnuplot is using the Bourne shell (sh) rather than bash for executing
shell commands. I have the environmental variable $SHELL=/bin/bash,
which according to the man page should set gnuplot's shell language.
However, in gnuplot typing !echo $0 returns "sh" and the bash specific
commands are not available.
Previously gnuplot was using the bash shell.
