Oh. On second thoughts I think you might have made a mistake.
I think more likely the fix came from the reintroduction of the Intel
Xorg driver:
Install: libxcb-randr0:amd64 (1.13.1-2, automatic), xserver-xorg-
video-intel:amd64 (2:2.99.917+git20180925-2, automatic)
which is needed by older GPUs, possibly like:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5870 @ 2.00GHz
That would make this a duplicate of bug 1819943.
** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) => xorg (Ubuntu)
** Summary changed:
- lightdm login screen never appears when using kernel 5.0.0-7, but works with
kernel 5.0.0-8
+ lightdm login screen never appears on Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5870
** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu)
Status: Fix Committed => New
** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1819943
intel video driver not installed by default in ubuntu 19.04 (Disco)
