*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 128959 ***
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/128959

I think that the duplicate status is wrong, for two reasons: first
because I run Xfce and second because the mouse pointer works perfectly
after every logout/login. It suddenly disappear when I try to modify the
brightness of the screen with the combination of keys of the Dell X200:
Fn+up Fn+down.

** Description changed:

In Xubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon I experience a really strange flaw: sometimes
(and I'm not able to understand why) why) the mouse cursor suddenly disappears!!
What happens is that I can still click on everything, but the pointer is
"invisible" and I was not able to make it visible again.
I tried to logout and login again or to restart X but my cursor comes back
only after reboot.
I was neither able to link the disappearing of the cursor to any application.
I'm unable to induce the disappearing of the pointer, but it happens
frequently...

I have a Dell Latitude X200 and installed the released version of Gutsy
Gibbon (not r.c.): no compiz neither Xgl.
+
+ EDIT: I discover a way how to reproduce the bug. It's enough to use the
combination of keys Fn+up or Fn+down, that is the combination to increase or
decrease the brightness of the screen in my laptop. I think it's a bug related
to Xfce and never described before.
+ Many thanks for the help.
