Brightness keys (if not implemented in hardware directly) need to be
known and mapped by the kernel.

Please:

1. Tell us the exact laptop model.

2. Run: sudo apt install evtest

3. Run: sudo evtest

4. Select your keyboard and then tap the Fn+brightness keys.

5. Copy and paste what you see in the evtest output.
