Correction:

When building libibverbs from the rdma-core from the master branch I do
NOT see the problem.

When using the libibverbs supplied with ubuntu 19.04
(libibverbs1/disco,now 22.1-1 ppc64el) the problem occurs.

Using libibverbs built from the debian/master branch of rdma-core, the
problem occurs.

(the results are the same with both the 5.0.7 kernel and 5.0.0-8-generic
kernel)
