BTW, if you need to remove the latest kernel, you can boot to the older kernel
and remove the latest one with:
  sudo apt-get remove linux-image-$VERSION-generic

Replace the $VERSION with the version number of the kernel that you want
to remove.

Title:
After following the OS suggestion of upgrading some packages and then
doing the rebooting, the login menu does not appear any more. To be
able to login I have to avoid booting with the first option linux
4.13.0-32 and use the previous one ( linux 4.13.0-12).
